Some luxury resorts in tranquil settings and with quality service at popular tourist destinations have hosted visiting billionaires and celebrities vacationing in Vietnam.

Built on the hills of Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang City, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has played host to a number of billionaires. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his girlfriend Paula Hurd visited Da Nang in early March on vacation and reportedly stayed at the resort.

In 2012 another American billionaire, George Soros, and his family stayed in its VIP rooms that have a list price of $1,200.

The resort is loved by celebrities for its secluded location in the “green lungs” of Da Nang.

It has 201 luxury rooms, suites, penthouses, and villas that offer views of the sea and tropical forests.

Room rates start at VND21 million.

In October last year Thai actress Prang Kannarun, who has six million followers on Instagram, came on a short vacation to Amanoi Resort inside the Nui Chua National Park in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan, famous for its pristine beaches.

It has 36 villas facing the sea or hills, the most luxurious costing $8,000 and the cheapest starting at $1,150.

The resort also offers experiences such as exploring Vinh Hy Bay, one of the most pristine in Vietnam, by kayak or catamaran, diving to explore coral, discovering Cham culture, and conquering the top of Chua Mountain, which lies at a height of 1,000 meters above sea level.

Surrounded by green nature in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, P’apiu Resort opened its doors to guests in 2019.

An American billionaire couple, whose names have not been revealed, stayed there while on a four-day holiday in December 2022. The couple flew to Ha Giang by a private charter flight accompanied by their security guards and medical team.

The resort has three villas designed in different styles.

Mellow, built with mud walls, replicates the houses of the local Hmong people. Fluffy is a completely wooden structure on top of a mountain, allowing visitors to watch white clouds drift by.

The third villa is underground.

Capella Hanoi in the old quarter was chosen by South Korean girl band Blackpink during their stay in the capital city last year. They rented a suite that costs VND25-30 million during weekends.

The hotel, which opened in 2021, has 47 rooms and suites, each individually styled with operatic artifacts and custom portraiture that pay tribute to legendary opera artists, composers, designers, and performances.

It was designed by American landscape architect and interior designer Bill Bensley who has overseen over 200 hospitality projects in 50 countries.

Located on Khem Beach on Phu Quoc Island is JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, which was chosen by super-rich Indian couple Rushang Shah and Kaabia Grewal to organize their lavish wedding in 2019.

Kaabia is co-founder of Outhouse, one of India’s leading bridge jewelry houses, while Rushang runs a company that offers security services to leading businesspeople and politicians.

Situated 15 minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport, the resort has 244 rooms, suites and stand-alone villas and four restaurants serving French, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisines.

The French-style resort opened to guests in 2016. Room rates start at VND8 million (US$320) a night.

Voucher Six Senses Côn Đảo

Before their divorce Hollywood actor couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie vacationed once in Con Dao Archipelago off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau in 2011.

They stayed at the five-star Six Senses Con Dao resort that stretches along Dat Doc Beach inside the Con Dao National Park.

It has 50 beach-view villas built mainly with natural materials, each with a private swimming pool.

The price of a villa for two ranges from VND9.4 million to 64 million.

In December 2011 Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife (then girlfriend) Priscilla Chan made a secret trip to Vietnam, visiting two famous places: Ha Long Bay and Sa Pa.

The couple stayed at Topas Ecolodge, hidden inside Muong Hoa Valley, some 15 kilometers from Sa Pa.

Opened in 2005, the five-star resort has 41 bungalows built with white granite that resemble ethnic minority stilt houses.

All their furniture is made from natural materials like wood, bamboo and rattan. There are no TVs, computers or even wifi.

A night’s stay costs from VND6 million per person.

One of its highlights is an infinity pool situated 900 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level and surrounded by terraced rice fields.
