Vietnam offers many international 5-star standard golf course
In an article of Forbes in 2019 stated, Vietnam is the fastest growing golf market in the world. Golf courses have gradually received more attention and investment, designed according to international standards by world-famous golf course designers such as Jack Nicklaus; Sir Nick Faldo; Robert Trent Jones Jr.; Greg Norman; Peter Rousseau; Ahn Moon Hwan; etc…
According to Vietnam Golf Tourism Association, in 2019, pre-Covid 19 period, Vietnam welcomed 3 million visitor arrivals to play golf, including 1.5 millions international visitor arrivals, the total tourist receipts reached around VND 4,500 billion.
By 2020, there are about 80 golf courses in operation across the country, of which at least one third meets international 5-star standards, associated with high-class resorts. The total number of golf courses is expected to increase to 200 by 2025, with at least 300,000 golfers including Vietnamese, foreigners and visitors.
In 2022, Vietnam was crowned as “Asia’s Best Golf Destination” by the World Golf Awards (WGA). This is the 6th consecutive year (2017 – 2022), Vietnam has been recognised under this title.

Golf clubs in the region are being regarded as leading golf centres, not only in Vietnam but also in Asia in general. Currently, these units are also recording many positive signals when golf tourism returns in a promising way.
Drift Travel Magazine published their article “Vietnam Golf Coast Eyes a Huge Year for Central Vietnam as Golf Tourism Bounces Back” earlier and quoted the Vietnam Golf Coast (VGC)’s statement that Vietnam has all objective and subjective conditions to develop golf sport. Asia’s top golf destination is not just recovering following the pandemic: it’s getting even better.
This rebound is also reflected via several major golf events to take place in 2023. These include the Asia Grand Final of the Faldo Series — the only global amateur series for boys and girls — which will play out over the Sir Nick Faldo Signature Design at Laguna Golf Lang Co in April.
Golf courses across Vietnam in general and in the central in particular, in 2023, will be the spotlights of the show, since Central Vietnam will be the venue for the global golf industry as Da Nang, its largest city, hosts the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) and Asian Development Tour (ADT) over the course of the year.
